Assault With Dangerous Weapon Arrest Made In Mayfair Shooting

DC police charged a Southeast juvenile male in a Wednesday afternoon shooting that occurred in the Mayfair area.

WASHINGTON, DC -- Metropolitan Police Department detectives from the Sixth District arrested a suspect in a Wednesday afternoon shooting in the Mayfair area, according to a police release.

On Jan. 22, around 3:53 p.m., the suspect approached the victim in the 4100 block of Minnesota Avenue, N.E.. The suspect pointed a handgun, shot the victim, and then fled the scene. Responding officers apprehended the suspect and recovered the weapon.

Police arrested a 17-year-old juvenile male of Southeast, D.C., and charged him with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).
