Mt. Greenwood Has Best Holiday Spirit In Chicago: Study

CHICAGO - No Chicago neighborhood participates in holiday decorating more than Mount Greenwood. That's according to the 2018 Neighborly Awards released this week by real estate company Trulia.

In the category "Most Holiday Spirit," Trulia found that Mount Greenwood residents said "yes" to the question "Do you decorate your home for any holidays?" more than any other city neighborhood participating in the study, a representative from Trulia has confirmed.

Nationally, the study found that the best decorated neighborhood is Bridesburg in Philadelphia, while the Sardis Woods neighborhood in Charlotte was named the runner-up.

"Every day, people tell us why they love their neighborhood," Tim Correi, Trulia's senior vice president and general manager, said of conducting the study. "Using these insights, we created The Neighborlys to celebrate America's most beloved neighborhoods and to showcase what makes them so special to the people who live there."

Nearly 10,000 neighborhoods across the United States were used in the study. It included four other categories. Here's a look at the Chicago neighborhood winners in the other categories:

• Friendliest Neighbors: Beverly
• Dog-Friendliest: Roscoe Village
• Most Walkable: Wicker Park
• Kid-Friendliest: North Center
