Deadly I-55 Crash Near Wilmington Exit: State Police
Thursday's fatality marked the second day in a row of a deadly wreck south of Joliet.
WILMINGTON, IL — The Will County Coroner's Office said a 62-year-old woman from Missouri was killed Thursday afternoon in Wilmington Township when her car collided with two other vehicles along the northbound stretch of Interstate 55. The fatality victim has been identified as Cynthia Utley of House Springs, Mo.
The out of state woman died of multiple injuries caused by the crash. The Illinois State Police is investigating the fatality. The crash happened around 3:35 p.m.
On Wednesday evening, Channahon police and the Will County Sheriff's Office responded to a motorcycle wreck near Canal Street that killed a 32-year-old Geneva woman who was riding as a passenger.
