FRANKFORT, IL — At its Jan. 15 meeting, the Summit Hill board of education shared information about next year's district calendar, kindergarten registration, hirings and more.

First, the board approved the 2020-21 school district calendar. The school year will start Aug. 19 and end May 26, 2021, if no snow days are used, according to the board briefs.

The board also shared kindergarten registration for next school year begins Feb. 3, board briefs state. Parents may register their child at Dr. Julian Rogus School, 20027 South 88th Ave., in Frankfort between 3:45 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Feb. 3.

The board also approved the hiring of Amanda Buchanan, FMLA teacher; and Cheryl Hajewski, paraprofessional, according to board briefs. The resignation of Eric Maze was also accepted by the board.

  • fees for extended day kindergarten registration to remain at $150 and half-day fee to remain at $125 with a $30 off registration fee incentive available for those who complete their child’s registration and payment between Feb. 3 and
  • student milk fee to remain at $52.50
