FRANKFORT, IL — Every year, the village of Frankfort and Frankfort VFW Post 1493 normally hold a Memorial Day ceremony at Breidert Green. However, due to the coronavirus, this year's ceremony will be virtual.

"This year we're not going to have the typical 300-400 person gathering that we normally have for Memorial Day," Mayor James Holland said at the May 18 village board meeting.

Holland said a video will be put together, and includes participation from the Hickory Creek Middle School band with students playing taps.
