Kiwanis Of Frankfort Hold Special Olympics Games

80 athletes will participate in the Special Olympics Games, and will compete in games of skill and ability.

FRANKFORT, IL — The Kiwanis Club of Frankfort will host the 35th annual Special Olympics Games at Lincoln-Way East High School on Feb. 16. The club said the event will be held in the fieldhouse from 9 a.m. to noon.

80 athletes will participate in the Special Olympics Games, and will compete in games of skill and ability. The club said all athletes are awarded prizes for their participation.

The members of the Lincoln-Way East High School Junior ROTC, Frankfort Police and Fire departments, and the Gem’s from GiGi’s Playhouse located in Bourbonnais will all help at the event.

The Special Olympics Games has been organized for the past 35 years by long-time Kiwanis member Aurelio (Doc) Balducci. Balducci said this event is about the participants and is a special day for them.
