Mokena Business Sanitizes Frankfort Police Patrol Vehicles

J&J's Creative Colors has sanitized local police and fire vehicles, including 10 Frankfort Police patrol cars.

FRANKFORT, IL — One local company is helping to provide a safe environment for law enforcement and first responders by sanitizing patrol cars and ambulances. J&J's Creative Colors, which has its corporate headquarters in Mokena, recently provided free vehicle sanitizing for 10 Frankfort Police Department patrol cars.

Vice President of J&J's Creative Colors Kelli Bollman said the company usually works with car dealerships and will restore, dye and replace vinyl leather fabric.

In February, Bollman said the company started seeing the need not only for cleaning, but for sanitizing too.

When the company cleans vehicles for first responders, it first cleans all the frequently touched areas with an antimicrobial cloth.

The antimicrobial soap is used on areas like steering wheels, door handles, seat belts and electronics used in the first responder vehicles. The soap helps to break down the coronavirus, Bollman explains.

Next, the company uses a disinfectant solution which is registered with the Environmental Protection Agency and recommended for coronavirus clean-up, the company said. The disinfectant is sprayed via a sprayer to the entire interior of the vehicle.

Bollman, who is a Frankfort resident, said the company has also held sanitization events twice for Mokena Police patrol cars and once for Mokena Fire Protection District ambulances.

"It's something we can do to give back a little bit."
