Police Respond To Car Burglary In Progress, Thieves Flee

Police said the crime took place on Nebraska Street in the Old Town area.

FRANKFORT, IL — Frankfort Police are reminding residents to lock their cars after officers responded to a car burglary in progress on Tuesday night. Police said the crime took place on Nebraska Street in the Old Town area. The offenders fled the area at a high rate of speed.

According to police, these same offenders stole and broke into cars in neighboring communities and were using one of those stolen cars when they committed the crime in Frankfort.

Police remind residents to close garage doors overnight, lock your cars, remove valuables (especially weapons), and never leave the keys or key fobs in cars.
