FRANKFORT, IL — A private prom organized by Lincoln-Way East graduates and held in Indiana is causing concern for some parents amid increasing cases of the coronavirus in the area, according to a report from NBC.

Patch reported about the private prom in April, when graduating seniors decided to create a GoFundMe to accept donations and raise funds for the event. The GoFundMe raised $9,310.

According to a report from NBC5 Chicago, about 250 people attended the event last week in Hobart, Indiana. Although tables were spaced out at the event and capacity was limited, some parents told NBC they were concerned about sick teens and spiking coronavirus cases.

As of July 28, data from the Will County Health Department showed there were 250 cases of the coronavirus in the Frankfort area (ZIP code 60423). Between July 21 and July 28, cases grew by 21, a slight increase from the previous week, which saw an increase of 20 cases.
