Small Fire Reported In Lincoln-Way East Concession Stand: Dept.

A fire was discovered inside the concession stand at East and was extinguished within 10 minutes.

FRANKFORT, IL — A small fire was reported Wednesday morning inside the south concession stand at Lincoln-Way East High School, the Frankfort Fire Protection District said. The district first received notification of a small fire in the athletic booster trailer at Lincoln-Way East at 7:55 a.m. Wednesday.

The district said when the first firefighters arrived, they found smoke coming from the south concession stand. A fire was discovered inside and was extinguished within 10 minutes. The fire caused extensive damage to the contents of the concession stand, but the building itself was relatively undamaged.

No injuries were reported, the district said. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but doesn't appear suspicious at this time.
