Substitute Teachers To Get Pay Increase: D161 Board Briefs

The board approved hirings of several faculty members, increased substitute pay and heard a presentation about tech integration.

FRANKFORT, IL — Summit Hill District 161 recently shared board briefs from its Oct. 16 regular board meeting. The board heard from Arbury Hills students about technology integration at each grade level, according to a release.

The board also approved the employment of Jason Tunzi and Clarissa Discher, FMLA teachers; Angela Logwood, special ed resource teacher; Alicia Kupiszewski, lunchroom supervisor; Kristen
Thompson, paraprofessional; and Christine Dote, district-wide substitute nurse.

According to a release, the board also increased the daily rate for substitute pay to $110, effective immediately; and approved purchase of a new filing storage system for the student records room. Lastly the board heard an update on eighth grade end of year activities which will include the awards program May 15, Great America May 19, a banquet May 21, and field day May 28.
