FRANKFORT, IL — Frankfort nonprofit It Could Be Your Kid will sponsor and organize a youth rally Saturday at Breidert Green in downtown Frankfort. The 'Be Anti-Racist: A Youth Rally' will begin at 2 p.m., and speakers will include many from the Lincoln-Way area including David Aima, Malaika Sokes, Jackson Driver, Rashad Evans, Sydney Barnes, Sarina Bhargava, Mira Bhargava, and Isaiah Lopez, a release states.

The event will provide a platform for young people to say what they need to say to the community in which they live and to the world, organizers said.

“Our youth are living in a world built on systemic, structural racism that is filled with racial injustice, racial inequity and oppression. It is the responsibility of adults to cultivate their courage and power and let them stand on our shoulders to speak their truth. Gone are the days of children being seen and not heard. The youth have been watching the world be turned upside down in response to the senseless murders of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and George Floyd,” said Stephanie Pearson-Davis, organizer of the event and It Could Be Your Kid founder.
