FREMONT TOWNSHIP, IL — The Lake County Coroner's Office has identified a Kentucky man killed in a Friday morning one-vehicle crash just southwest of Grayslake, in Fremont Township. According to a release from the coroner's office, the crash victim has been identified as 74-year-old Sandro Montagnani, of Adairville Kentucky, Dr. Howard Cooper, Lake County Coroner, said. The coroner's office was called to the area of Route 60 and Blackhawk Trail at 10:49 a.m. Friday for a death investigation, and an autopsy was performed on Montagnani at 1:30 p.m. that same day, according to the release.

"The preliminary autopsy results indicate he died from complications of hemorrhage due to an aortal pulmonary fistula rupture," Dr. Cooper said, in the release. "Toxicology results are pending. The investigation into his death continues by our office and the Lake County Sheriff’s office.”

The Lake County Sheriff's Office was called to the crash scene around 9:15 a.m. on Friday, and the first deputies to arrive found a 2014 Dodge Journey about 100 feet off the road north of Route 60, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
