The crime occurred early Sunday morning at the gas station on Lorenzo Road.
WILMINGTON, IL — A 27-year-old Diamond man is now in custody at the Will County Jail after sheriff's police say that Corey Ingram wore a blue ski mask as he robbed the Knights Inn River Road Truck Stop in Wilmington Township around 4:30 a.m. Sunday. An employee told sheriff's police the robber also wore gloves and showed off a handgun being kept in his waistband.
"The employee placed the cash into a store plastic bag and handed it to the offender. The offender then exited the store," Will County's Sheriff's Department announced Monday.
About 10 minutes after the robbery, a Wilmington police officer and a Will County Sheriff's deputy spotted a white man later identified as Corey Ingram hiding in the bushes in a nearby heavily wooded area.
