10th Free Community Farmers Market Pops Up In Annapolis Thursday

An estimated 500 meals will be handed on and 10,000 bags of donated goods and clothing will be available to anyone in need.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Latitude 38° Waterfront Restaurant will host its 10th Free Community Farmers Market Thursday, opening at 11:30 a.m. for first responders and active and retired military. It will open to all others at noon.

Shoppers will find an assortment of grocery items and produce provided by Latitude 38° along with donations from other businesses such as Diehl's Family Produce. Feed Anne Arundel also will be on site with 400 prepared meals to distribute from Luna Blu, Romanos, Adam Ribs and The Palate Pleasers. Latitude 38° also will prep 100 meals to hand out.

Donations of used clothing have poured in from the community, so there will be apparel on hand for people to peruse.

"This is truly humbling, rewarding and brings joy to my heart each week to see the community neighbors, businesses and organizations come together to help us take care of our community. We have already given away an astounding nearly 800 prepared meals and 8,500 bags of groceries. This week on our 10th time doing this we will reach well over 1,000 prepared meals and 10,000 bags of goods and clothing to anyone in need," said Justin Schaffner, bar manager of Latitude 38°.
