ANNAPOLIS, MD — A sailor from Annapolis embarked upon a 56-mile 'Round-the-Island race with his team that has been a New England racing tradition for 81 years, winning several other sailing events during the weekend's racing events.

Gavin Brady of Annapolis, the helmsman of the IRC 52 Beau Geste, sailed with Karl Kwok of Hong Kong in the recently held Edgartown Race Weekend. The Beau Geste won all of its races, according to Sail World. Brady told Sail World that his team had to "put the hammer down" to hold its time steady in the Round-the-Buoy races.
