Annapolis Officers To Carry The Torch For Special Olympics

The Annapolis Police Department will be participating in the Special Olympics Torch Run June 5 with a leg that spans 3.8 miles.

ANNAPOLIS, MD – The Annapolis Police Department will be participating in the Special Olympics Torch Run leg June 5. Their trek spans 3.8 miles. Runners will pick up the torch at City Dock at approximately 2 p.m. and run with it up Main Street to Church Circle and onto School Street and up State Circle. Runners will pause for photos and a water break when they reach the State House.

From there, they will continue to North Street, onward to St. John’s Street and segue on to Calvert Street toward Bladen Street. Runners will pound the pavement on Rowe Boulevard and turn onto Taylor Avenue where they will pause for more photos at MSP J Barrack. From there they will go left on Ridgely Avenue toward Monterey Avenue, on toward Tucker Street and to Melvin Avenue where they’ll have pause for more photos and a water stop at Annapolis Elementary School. They’ll continue along Melvin Avenue to Annapolis Street then out Route 450 to the World War II Memorial. A picnic and ceremony will be held afterward at Jonas Green Park.
