Annapolis Under Coastal Flood Warning

Emergency management officials in Annapolis advised drivers to anticipate delays around flooded roads.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — Water has covered some roads in downtown Annapolis Tuesday, and the issue is likely to persist through Wednesday morning. The Anne Arundel County shoreline is under a coastal flood warning until 8 a.m. on Wednesday and a coastal flood watch through Wednesday night.

Compromise Street, Dock Street and Newman Street have been closed due to flooding, Annapolis emergency management officials said before 5 p.m. Tuesday. Those headed to Eastport will need to use Duke of Gloucester Street.

Particularly around high tide, weather officials warn water may flow up through storm drains, creeping toward businesses on Dock Street, the Maritime Museum and Bowyer Road near the Naval Academy.
