Annapolis Waitress Surprised With $1K Tip
A big group of Anne Arundel County residents treated an Annapolis waitress and new mom to a $1,050 tip to show her their appreciation.
ANNAPOLIS, MD — For 18 years, Maria Mouhtouris has greeted patrons to the Double T Diner with a smile. The restaurant on West Street has a healthy array of regulars and newcomers eager to check it out. Just before Christmas, a big group of people tumbled into the diner for breakfast. The 21 guests from Annapolis and Anne Arundel County were on a Secret Santa mission.
Each of the guests put $50 in a pot to go to Mouhtouris' tip. When they presented her with the $1,050 tip, she was stunned, the Capital Gazette reported.
“All I can say is thank you, this is a great gift for the Christmas holiday, thank you,” Mouhtouris said.

John Kolendrianos, one of the diner's owners, shared that the gift was much appreciated by the waitress since she had just had a baby last year.
