Anne Arundel Schools Make Weather Call For Wednesday, Feb. 20

BREAKING: There has been a change in schedule for Anne Arundel County Public Schools on Wednesday because of the weather.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Anne Arundel County Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday, Feb. 20. Officials made the announcement Tuesday evening. All schools and offices will be closed on Wednesday, Feb. 20, the district said.

A Code Red is in effect for employees. Unit III personnel must report to their work locations as required by their negotiated agreement.

The Board of Education meeting scheduled for Wednesday will instead be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 25.

Anne Arundel County is under a winter storm warning from 4 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, with the National Weather Service calling for 3 to 6 inches of snow and a light glaze of ice. Snow in the morning will mix with and change to sleet and freezing rain by early afternoon, then rain Wednesday night, according to the National Weather Service.
