Artists From Around the World Are In Annapolis For Special Event

ANNAPOLIS, MD – Artists from around the world have descended upon Annapolis to participate in Paint Annapolis, a juried plein air painting competition going on now through June 9. For 15 years, hundreds of locals and visitors turn out to watch the artists paint and enjoy the city during this special event.

There also will be various activities held in conjunction with Paint Annapolis, including Nocturne, where artists will capture the nighttime beauty of Annapolis after sundown. They will be painting on West Street and Main Street. Maryland Avenue will be closed to traffic from 5:30 to 8 p.m. June 6 so visitors can soak up paintings of historic Annapolis at the Art of the Avenue block party. There also will be food and vendors.

A collector’s reception will be held June 7 where guests will catch a sneak peek at all of the work created during Paint Annapolis. Artwork also will be on display at Circle Gallery June 8 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and again from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 9.
