Smoke Fills Eastport Building, Draws Annapolis Fire Department
The Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Fire Departments responded to a reported fire in Eastport Monday afternoon. Crews did not find flames.
ANNAPOLIS, MD — Reports of a fire drew crews to Eastport Monday afternoon. Though smoke filled the building, firefighters did not find any flames.
The Annapolis Fire Department and the Anne Arundel County Fire Department reported to the 400 block of Chester Avenue just before 12:45 p.m. They departments closed Chester Avenue between 4th Street and 6th Street and asked residents to be careful.
After shutting off the building's utilities and finding nobody injured, crews cleared the area around 1:15 p.m. Chester Avenue has reopened.
