Busy Christmas Season Ahead In Annapolis: Your Can't Miss Events

Upcoming events in Annapolis like Midnight Madness and the Santa Speedo Run will get you in the holiday spirit.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — With Christmas getting closer, there are plenty of events to look forward to around Annapolis. The city is a Christmas destination in its own right, with events such as Midnight Madness, the First Family's Open House and the Santa Speedo Run. And there's plenty more where that came from.

Midnight Madness

The Annapolis Arts District invites you to celebrate Midnight Madness from 6 p.m. to midnight on Thursday, Dec. 6, Dec. 13 and Dec. 20.

This downtown-wide celebration is a fun evening of shopping and in-store events. The Arts District invites you to start early on West Street with discounted garage parking and Midnight Madness Happy Hours. For more information, click here.

First Family's Open House

Gov. Larry Hogan and First Lady Yumi Hogan invite the public to a Holiday Open House from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Government House in Annapolis. The event is free and no reservations are required. For more information, click here.

Christmas Concert

The Arundel Vocal Arts Society will perform a free Christmas concert at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, at Galilee Lutheran Church, 4652 Mountain Road in Pasadena. For more information, click here.

Lights On The Bay

Lights on the Bay at Sandy Point State Park plans a number of family-friendly events at the outdoor holiday light show. The display is open from 5 to 10 p.m. and runs every night through Jan. 1.

The park is on Sandy Point at the western end of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. The address is 1100 E. College Parkway, Annapolis. For more information, click here.

Santa Speedo Run

The 11th Annual Santa Speedo Run and Toy Drive will take place on Saturday, Dec. 15, beginning and ending at O’Brien’s Steak House on Main Street in Annapolis. The one-mile event will feature runners jogging through the downtown/city dock area.

This year, toys and books will be accepted at 10:30 a.m. at O'Brien's. Registration will be at 11 a.m. with the run at 12:30 p.m. To register in advance and for more information, click here.
