Gov. Hogan Named Grand Marshal Of Military Bowl Parade

The Military Bowl parade, with Gov. Larry Hogan as grand marshal, will kick off gameday festivities on Dec. 31 at City Dock in Annapolis.

ANNAPOLIS, MD – The organizers of the Military Bowl announced this week that Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan has been chosen to serve as the grand marshal of the parade preceding the college football game on Monday, Dec. 31, in Annapolis.

Led by the Budweiser Clydesdales, the parade will begin at 9 a.m. downtown at City Dock. It will proceed up historic Main Street before working its way to Rowe Boulevard. The parade will conclude on Taylor Avenue, adjacent to Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, the site of this year's Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman.

After the parade, the governor will join Medal of Honor recipients and other dignitaries on the field, where he will conduct the pregame coin toss, according to a statement from the game's organizers.

Organized by the Military Bowl Foundation, the football game benefits the USO and other organizations supporting members of the U.S. armed forces and their families.

Since its inception in 2008, the game has donated more than $800,000 to the USO and provided more than 25,000 free tickets to troops and their families, say Military Bowl organizers.

Proceeds from the game will also benefit Patriot Point, the Military Bowl’s 290-acre retreat for recovering service members, their families and caregivers on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
