Pedestrians Attacked, Threatened In 2 Annapolis Robberies

Two pedestrians were attacked or threatened in separate robberies recently, according to Annapolis Police.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Two pedestrians were attacked or threatened in separate robberies on Nov. 19 and 20, according to Annapolis Police. In the first case, a woman reported she was walking about 11:30 p.m. on Nov. 19 in the first block of West Street when an unknown woman asked her to buy her a meal at a restaurant on Main Street.

Police say when the victim offered to instead buy food at a nearby business, the robber told the victim to go to a nearby ATM or she would be hurt. They walked to the ATM, the victim withdrew money and gave it to the suspect, who then left the area once she had the money.

The second robbery happened about 6:30 p.m. Nov. 21 in the 1100 block of Bay Ridge Avenue. A man told police as he was walking in the area a woman hit him in the face with a metal pole. As the victim fell to the ground, the robber grabbed the victim’s backpack and fled.

The victim was treated at an area hospital for his face injuries.
