The goal of the National Day of Protest on May 30 is "to stop the racist murder and violence that this administration has willfully unleashed on those trapped in jails, prisons and detention centers, many of which are becoming death camps in this time of the COVID-19 pandemic," according to the National Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression.

The Chicago-based organization strives to bring justice to the working poor, the incarcerated and all whose human rights are challenged.

"We are protesting the murders of Ahmaud Arbery in Georgia and Breonna Taylor in Louisville because they are outrages that demand justice," organizers of the National Day of Protest said in a statement. "We will not now or ever stand in silence in the face of the crimes of government perpetrated against oppressed peoples and the working class. We must make certain that there is resistance throughout the land in order to have a new and better world after we overcome this pandemic."
