Bomb Threats Reported In Montgomery County And Across The Nation
Authorities say they are responding to several bomb threats in Montgomery County Thursday amid a wave of similar threats across the country.
BETHESDA, MD — Police say they are responding to several bomb threats in Montgomery County Thursday amid a wave of similar threats across the United States.
"The Montgomery County Police are aware of bomb threats made via email across the county," police wrote in a tweet. "At this time, it appears this is a trend across the nation with many areas receiving similar threats. Please notify the police of any such threats so they can be investigated appropriately."
Police did not immediately release more information.

Dozens of bomb threats were reported against schools, hospitals, businesses, facilities, and other places across the the United States on Thursday, law enforcement officials said.
"We are aware of recent bomb threats made in cities around the country & remain in touch w/ our law enforcement partners to provide assistance," the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives tweeted. "As always, we encourage the public to remain vigilant & to report suspicious activities that could represent a threat to public safety."
