Mental Health Film Festival Kicks Off Oct. 23 In Columbia

The 2019 Mental Health Film Festival will begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, with screenings of four independent films.

COLUMBIA, MD — The 2019 Mental Health Film Festival will be held the evening of Wednesday, Oct. 23, with opening remarks scheduled for 6 p.m. followed by the screenings of one of four independent films focusing on issues from veterans with PTSD to postpartum depression to youth suicide. Each film will be followed by a discussion featuring local mental health experts and speakers sharing their personal experiences.

Attendees will be able to sign a wall pledging to be an “Emotional Support Human” and participate in a photobooth and other activities in the lobby just before and after the films. The film festival will be held at Regal UA Snowden Square Theater, 9161 Commerce Center Dr., Columbia. It is being hosted by The Horizon Foundation.
