South Carolina Man Charged With Trafficking Cocaine In Barnstable
Barnstable police said they found 140 grams of crack cocaine in a South Carolina man's hotel.
BARNSTABLE, MA — A South Carolina man was arrested after Barnstable police said he was trafficking more than 140 grams of cocaine out of his hotel room.
Quintavious Calhoun, 30, was charged with trafficking cocaine and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.
On Friday night, police said they received a tip that Calhoun was selling crack cocaine near the east end of Main Street in Hyannis. Police found Calhoun near the intersection of Main Street and Yarmouth Road.

According to police, when an officer approached Calhoun, he threw his electric bike in the officer's direction and ran away. While running away, police said Calhoun reached into his sock and throw a small bag. Police said they caught Calhoun and found three one-gram bags of crack cocaine he tried to discard.
Police searched Calhoun's hotel room and said they found 140 grams of crack cocaine, about $4,000 in cash and a digital scale.

Calhoun was arraigned in Barnstable District Court Monday and was held on $10,000 bail. he is due back in court for a probable cause hearing Aug. 24.
