Massachusetts is the most educated state in America, according to a report released Monday morning.

WalletHub, the financial site that releases state and city studies on a number of topics, found that the Bay State is by far the most educated state by measure of educational attainment and quality. Massachusetts finished well above Maryland, Colorado, Vermont and Connecticut atop the rankings.

The rankings were created off the back of 18 metrics, some of which Massachusetts led. Massachusetts has the highest percentage of people holding bachelor's degrees and graduate or professional degrees. It was behind only California in the highest average quality of universities.
