Curated by Clifford S. Ackley, Ruth and Carl J. Shapiro Curator of Prints and Drawings, Museum of Fine Arts October 24 – December 20, 2019

Concord, MA (October 2019) Concord Center for the Visual Arts is pleased to be hosting “Observation & Imagination, Works on Paper," on view in the Main Galleries from October 24 - December 20. Clifford S. Ackley, the Ruth and Carl J. Shapiro Curator of Prints for the Museum of Fine Arts is the guest curator for this art exhibition. Ackley chose work that is very personal to him and includes fifteen noted area artists from the Boston area. When asked about the exhibit, Clifford Ackley stated,

"Why works on paper? For the last fifty years I have recommended for acquisition and curated exhibitions of prints, drawings and photographs at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston...I trust that the artists and works shown here justify at least in part my self-proclaimed breadth of interest."

Ackley also remarked that the artists whose work was selected for the exhibition are "Boston area artists for whom works on paper played a significant or central role in their work." Those artists include: Sandra Allen, David Campbell, Michael David, Linda Etcoff, Jesseca Ferguson, Nona Hershey, Chuck Holtzman, Sidney Hurwitz, Constance Jacobson, Joel Janowitz, Catherine Kernan, Judy Kensley McKie, John O'Reilly, John Powell, and Liz Shepard.
