Meet The Salem City Council Candidates

The League of Women Voters has scheduled a series of candidates forums for contested Salem City Council races this fall.

SALEM, MA — The League of Women Voters - Salem has scheduled forums where voters can meet candidates running in this fall's municipal elections. There will be a preliminary election in Ward 3 on Sept. 17 to trim the field of candidates running for city council, and there are several contested races in the general election on Nov. 5. So far, the league has scheduled forums for candidates running for city council in Wards 1, 3 and 6.

Sept. 3: Ward Six Candidate Forum

Megan Riccardi, Tyler Terry and Jerry Ryan are running for the seat currently held by Beth Gerard, who is not running for reelection.

Salem High School, 77 Wilson Street

Robert Camire, Leo Higgins, Patricia Morsillo and Jillian Mulholland are running for the seat currently held by Lisa Peterson, who is running for U.S. Representative and is not running for reelection to Salem City Council.

Oct. 15: Ward One Candidate Forum

Salem Waterfront Hotel, 225 Derby Street

James Willis Jr. is challenging incumbent Robert K. McCarthy in the general election on Nov. 5.
