SALEM, MA — Exposure charges against a Salem man whose underwear became sheer enough to see through when he went for a swim at Dead Horse Beach last summer were dropped after witnesses did not show up for his trial Tuesday. David Beausoleil, 51, of 12 Pope Street in Salem, had, according to police reports, asked a woman "What, you've never seen a penis before?" when she tried to shield her daughter from the sight. Other witnesses told police "you could see everything" and that Beausoleil eventually removed the underwear and sat naked on the beach.

Beausoleil was arrested and charged with indecent exposure, disorderly conduct, open and gross lewdness charge and violating a city ordinance against drinking in public after telling police he was "minding my own business" and just trying to have a few beers on the beach. But when the witnesses did not show up for his trial this week, Essex County District Attorney's office prosecutors were forced to drop the case.
