Salem Wine Bar Closes Just One Year After Opening

Stella', which boasted an extensive wine list, had taken over space from a barbecue restaurant that stayed in business for just eight months

SALEM, MA — The restaurant curse of 94 Lafayette Street in Salem continues. Stella's, which took over the space a year ago, said on its Website that it has permanently closed. The wine bar was owned by Saugus-based SKF Hospitality Group.

The space has been home to several restaurants over the past 10 years. Before Stella's opened, 94 Lafayette Street was home to Smokin' Betty's, a barbecue restaurant that closed in January 2018 after just eight months in business.
