SALEM, MA — The owner of CinemaSalem says he will close the downtown theater early next year if he cannot find a buyer within the next 11 weeks. Paul Van Ness has owned the theater for 14 years but says he needs to find a new owner who can spend more time operating it. Van Ness said his Beverly-based film production company has gotten busier and he no longer has the time to commit to CinemaSalem.

"It's required a ton of creativity all the time. At this point I probably want a little quieter life than I have," Van Ness told the Salem News, which first reported this story.
