STOUGHTON, MA — As the pools close and kids head back to school, summer unofficially comes to an end over Labor Day weekend. As you have your summer send-off barbecues, many services will take a break for the holiday weekend.

Here's a list of what's open and closed on Labor Day.

  • Retail stores: Open at owner's discretion
  • Liquor stores: Open
  • Supermarkets: Open
  • Convenience stores: Open
  • Restaurants, bars: Open
  • Banks: Closed
  • Libraries: Closed
  • Stock market: Closed
  • Municipal, state, federal offices: Closed
  • Mail: Post offices closed; express delivery only
  • MBTA: Sunday schedule
  • Trash Collection: Delayed one day (Monday collection bumped to Tuesday, Tuesday to Wednesday, etc.)
