STOUGHTON, MA — Stoughton is eligible to receive almost $2.6 million from the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act passed in March.

The money is coming from $502 million of the $2.7 billion Massachusetts received. The money can be used to reimburse money spent specifically due to the coronavirus pandemic — things like personal protective equipment, disinfecting, temporary housing for quarantined people, short-term rental or mortgage help, and a number of other things — but cannot be used to replace lost revenue or fill gaps in the budget.
