Stoughton House Of Brews Closing

STOUGHTON, MA — The Stoughton House of Brews has closed permanently, owner Leo and Sandra Fay announced.

The popular bar, coffee shop and music venue has been a staple in Stoughton for seven years, but the owners said it couldn't survive amid the coronavirus pandemic.

"Unfortunately it's time," Sandra Fay wrote on the restaurant's Facebook page. "As we're sure you've heard, we are closing our doors soon. Leo and I, our entire family and our staff are so touched and overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and kind words about our place. It's been amazing for us to have had this experience and we will treasure the memories forever."

The House of Brews temporarily closed March 16 when restaurants and bars were closed under Gov. Charlie Baker's emergency order. Sandra Fay told the Brockton Enterprise she planned on reopening the restaurant, but extended closures and limiting restaurants to mostly outdoor dining when they can reopen created too much spacial and financial struggles to stay in business.

The Fays said they are trying to find a buyer to keep the restaurant open.

"If anyone knows of someone who would like to own a fun, unique establishment and make it their own, please send them our way!" the Fays wrote on Facebook. "We'd love to see its spirit stay alive."
