Storms Possible In Detroit Tuesday Night, Wednesday Morning

DETROIT, MI — Damaging winds, heavy rainfall and large hail are all possible in the Detroit area Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, according to a forecast from the National Weather Service in Detroit.

The forecast said the bulk of possible storms would be Wednesday before noon, generally south of M-59. The storms would pass through Michigan west to east at about 45 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

The storms could present damaging winds, hail up to 1 inch in diameter, lightning and locally heavy rainfall, according to the weather service forecast.

While there is but a marginal risk for such weather, the weather service reminds people living in the path of the storm to always have a severe weather safety plan in place and to have multiple ways to receive severe weather warnings.
