Michigan Boy, 8, Run Over By Mom’s Car At School

The boy is reportedly listed in critical condition at a local hospital.

BELMONT, MI — An 8-year-old boy is in critical condition in Western Michigan after reportedly being run over by his mother’s car as she dropped him off at school.

Kent County sheriff’s Sgt. Joel Roon says the boy had just left his mother’s car Tuesday morning and was holding onto the front passenger door when the car began pulling away. Roon says the boy’s feet left the ground before he fell and was run over by a back wheel of the car in the parking lot of Chandler Woods Charter Academy in Belmont, WDIV reported.

The boy was taken by ambulance to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, MLive reported.
