Trenton Soroptimists Present Third "Battle for Freedom."

Hair and fashion show supports survivors of human trafficking.

Hurry! There aren’t many seats left for Trenton Soroptimists’ third “Battle for Freedom” on January 25, 2020. This hair and fashion show is entitled “Detroit Style,” where local salon stylists will dress, design hair, and apply make up for the audience to vote for the best-styled models. Previous battles had over 400 attendees, and tickets were sold out early in the evening.

Trenton Area Soroptimist is a volunteer group that offers service by way of fundraising and donations, public awareness/educational programs, and hands-on assistance. These women give their time and talents to local food pantries, Vista Maria, First Step, Rapha House, Stanford House, Oakwood Beaumont Southshore, and to area women’s health institutions. The proceeds from “Battle for Freedom: Detroit Style” will benefit charities that help put an end to sex trafficking. This year’s special cause is to benefit “Hope Against Trafficking,” an organization which assists women to recover from their trafficking situations. Detroit is ranked as having one of the highest number of sex trafficking victims and is included in a global epidemic that annually nets over $2 billion.

The venue for this fundraiser is at the Prestige Banquet Center, 6600 Allen Road, in Allen Park. The doors will open at 6:30 P.M. with the show beginning at 7:30 P.M. General seating tickets cost $30; the price for VIP tables (seating ten per table) is $400. Online tickets are available at http://formsmarts.com/form/1nmt. Admission includes appetizers and entertainment in addition to the fashion show. A cash bar will be provided.
