Heselton Construction, LLC of Faribault, Minnesota is the prime contractor for the $3.41 million project.

June 5, 2020

Due to slower than expected small utility relocations, the intersection of Trunk Highway 246 and Jefferson Parkway originally scheduled to close June 8 has been delayed to Monday, June 15. City staff and the prime contractor, Heselton Construction, agree delaying the closure is in the best interest of all parties involved.

“Construction crews want to have full access to the site and hit the ground running when they begin construction,” said Sean Simonson, Northfield’s engineering manager.

When the closure takes effect, eastbound and westbound traffic on Jefferson Parkway will be detoured to Woodley Street via Highway 3 and Maple Street while northbound and southbound traffic on Trunk Highway 246 will be detoured to Highway 3 via Woodley Street and County Highway 1. The detours are anticipated to stay in place throughout the summer and into October.
