Highway 52 Crash In St. Paul Kills Burnsville Man
The crash shut down northbound Highway 52 Thursday afternoon.
SAINT PAUL, MN — The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a fatal crash on northbound Highway 52 at Plato Boulevard in St. Paul Thursday. The crash killed Anthony Keli Kawino, 33, of Burnsville. Kawino was not wearing a seat belt in the crash, police said.
Just before 12:30 p.m. Thursday, a Chevy Malibu headed northbound 52 in the left lane attempted merging into the right hand lane. It struck a Saturn.
The Saturn then rear-ended a Honda Civic, causing the Civic to then hit a Ford Escape. The Honda Civic came to rest blocking the left lane, the Chevy Malibu and Saturn came to rest in the right lane, and the Ford Escape moved to the right hand shoulder after being rear-ended.

It was the second fatal crash in the Twin Cities metro Thursday. Authorities are also investigating a crash on Highway 55 in Rosemount.
