Saint Paul Police Make An Arrest In Shooting Death

Nathan Sims, 28, of Saint Paul​ has been charged in connection with the killing death of James M. Cannon Jr., 32, of Saint Paul​.

ST. PAUL, MN—Saint Paul police have made an arrest in a fatal shooting that occurred early Friday morning. Nathan Sims, 28, of Saint Paul has been charged in connection with the killing death of James M. Cannon Jr., 32, of Saint Paul. According to police, he is currently behind bars at the Ramsey County jail.

Officers were called to the 700-block of Lexington Parkway South just after midnight Friday for a report of a person in distress. When they arrived, officers said they found Cannon suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

St. Paul Fire medics responded to the scene and rushed the victim to Regions Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
