TWIN CITIES, MN — After a warm weekend, expect temperatures to nosedive this week. Lows will reach 30 by Thursday. "It will be gloomy tonight through Tuesday, with plenty of rain expected to fall with skies remaining cloudy and strong winds picking up Monday night into Tuesday," says the National Wether Service.

"Behind this system, cooler weather will prevail."

Monday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 1 p.m, then showers likely. High near 57. East wind 10 to 15 mph becoming southeast 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Monday Night: Showers, mainly after 7 p.m. Low around 40. Breezy, with a west northwest wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Tuesday: Showers likely, mainly before 7 a.m. Cloudy, with a high near 43. Breezy, with a west northwest wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 33. West wind 10 to 15 mph decreasing to 5 to 10 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.

Wednesday: A slight chance of snow showers before 9 a.m., then a slight chance of rain and snow showers between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., then a slight chance of rain showers after 10 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 44. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 33. Northwest wind around 5 mph.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 41. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
