Man Found in Merrimack River Identified As Missing Manchester Man

Update: Authorities have identified the body found in the Merrimack River in Merrimack.

MERRIMACK, NH — Merrimack police, firefighters, and EMS responded to a call Thursday evening for a kayaker who found the body of a deceased male in the Merrimack River.

Responders removed the body which was transported to Concord for an autopsy by the New Hampshire Medical Examiners Office.

Heather Hamel, the public information officer for the Manchester Police Department, said after the autopsy was complete and the next of kin was notified, that the body was identified as Ronald McDonald, 37, who went missing in April.

In April, Manchester firefighter, NH Fish and Game, and Marine Patrol searched for a man who fell into the Merrimack River near a homeless camp in Manchester. The search in the areas between Granite Street and Queen City Ave lasted several days, but the man was not found.

While the search was under way in Manchester the mother of the victim spoke to and thanked those working on the search.
