CONCORD, NH — A popular eatery on the east side of the city is scheduled to close later this month, according to a report in the Concord Monitor. The CitySide Grille on Manchester Street has been open for nearly two decades, serving breakfast all day as well as lunch and hosting meetings like Kiwanis and Rotary in its function room. Employees were told last weekend that the business would be closed after the current owner moved out of the state.

The business has been owned by the Carantit family since January 2000, according to the restaurant’s website. Previously, the Skafidas family owned the business – then known as Skuffy’s. Decades ago, it was the local A&W – a popular hangout for young people who would order burgers, fries, and root beer floats in their hotrods outside before taking in the pictures at the Concord Drive-in, which was located across the street.

According to the city's assessing database, the building and land (about three-fourths of an acre) are assessed at around $790,000.
