White Christmas Possible For Southern NH: Latest Forecast

The forecast for Dec. 25 has arrived and it appears to give hope of snow on Christmas Day.

Long-range weather forecasts have finally gotten around to Dec. 25. So will New Hampshire see a another White Christmas? We might be kept guessing for awhile, but it's looking good.

Weather.com's two-week forecast caught up with Christmas on Tuesday, and it looks like snow could be in the cards depending on the temperature. The Concord area's forecast for Dec. 25 is a high of 29 degrees, a low of 18 degrees and a 40 percent chance of precipitation. It currently is calling for 'rain/snow' and has the image of a raincloud.

The 29 and 18 degrees will be among the lowest high/low temperatures in the next 14 days, according to the forecast. December has started off somewhat mild and with a lack of precipitation. Temperatures could dip just enough to give the Granite State a snowy Christmas as opposed to a wet one.

Weather forecasts will firm up over the next two weeks, but it could stay uncertain until Christmas Day. Either way, it doesn't appear a huge storm is on the horizon, but some light snow could isn't out of the question.

"The conditions this year may vary widely from these probabilities because the weather patterns present will determine if there is snow on the ground or if snow will fall on Christmas Day," the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said. "These probabilities are useful as a guide only to show where snow on the ground is more likely."
