Nominations Sought For 2019 Governor's Arts Awards
The State Council on the Arts is looking to recognize creative Granite Staters who enrich cultural and artistic life in New Hampshire.
CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire State Council for the Arts is seeking nominations for the 2019 Governor’s Arts Awards. The annual awards publicly recognize the contributions residents, orgs, and communities make to artistic and cultural life in New Hampshire. Previous awardees include: Marguerite Mathews of Pontine Theatre, decoy artist Fred Dolan, art educator Anna Nuttal, former Currier Museum of Art director Susan Strickler, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, the city of Nashua, and Thomas and Barbara Putnam.
For 2019, the categories include arts education, arts in health, creative communities, distinguished arts leadership, folk heritage, individual arts champion, and Lotte Jacobi Living Treasure (a lifetime achievement award).
Nominees must reside in New Hampshire (or have made a significant contribution to the arts while living here). Orgs and communities must be physically located in New Hampshire.
