CONCORD, NH — Saturation patrols in two different parts of the state led to numerous charges against drivers this month, according to New Hampshire State Police.

One saturation patrol was held in the greater Concord area on the weekend of July 4 and seven people were arrested: David Richardson, 35, of Concord on a driving under the influence charge and an open container violation; Adam Bergeron, 44, of Loudon on a DUI charge; Nadia E. Guzman, 27, of Rochester, on a theft warrant; and Rafael Mortan, 38, of Manchester on a domestic violence order violation. Two others were charged with reckless driving and another on an operating after suspension charge. Those names were not released by state police at the time of the arrests. Five must appear citations were also issued.

A second saturation patrol was held later that weekend in the Claremont and Keene areas.

That effort led to 60 motor vehicle stops for various violations as well as two arrests: A 16-year-old from Lempster who was charged with underage DUI, driving after suspension, minor in possession of alcohol, and a tobacco violation, and Robert Simandi, 31, of Keene, who was arrested on a reckless operation charge.

"The New Hampshire State Police has taken an aggressive stance to prevent persons from driving when impaired," Lt. Chad Lavoie of Troop D said. "New Hampshire has some of the most aggressive laws in the country to fight impaired driving and the law enforcement community will use those tools to their fullest extent to make sure our citizens and visitors are safe when operating their vehicles on our roadways."
